I came to faith in Jesus Christ during my sophomore year of college after a fellow ROTC cadet confronted me with my need for forgiveness of my sins. My initial growth took place through the campus ministry of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. It was during these weekly meetings that I met Christine Hemingway. We were married in February of 1989 and lived in Cranston, RI, where Christine worked as a registered nurse and I worked as a hydrogeologist. God called us to vocational ministry in 1991, while attending a mission conference at our church. I entered Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale, PA, in 1992 and graduated in 1997. I was asked to serve as an assistant pastor at Calvary Baptist Church where I served for five years until I entered the Army as a chaplain in 2003. While serving as a chaplain in the 82nd Airborne Division and the 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), I deployed to Iraq in 2003 and Afghanistan in 2006. At the end of 2007, God unexpectedly opened the door for me to become the pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church and Christian Academy in Fayetteville, NC. My 11 years of shepherding at Cornerstone are some of the most fulfilling years of my life.

What I enjoy most in life is spending time with Christine and my children. I also enjoy planning DIY projects and then seeing them come into reality. If I had to choose between a book or a movie, I would choose a movie; between Dunkin or Starbucks, I would choose Dunkin; between the Yankees or Red Sox, I would choose the Red Sox; between the Patriots and the Redskins, I would choose . . ., well, maybe I should stop while I am ahead, since I also enjoy job security.
