Who We Are
We are a church located in Oceanside, California.
The Oceanside United Reformed Church began in February 2000 as a church plant of the Escondido United Reformed Church to be the only confessionally Reformed congregation in coastal North County of San Diego. We are members of the United Reformed Churches in North America.
We whole-heartedly confess and teach the holy Scriptures as summarized in the ecumenical creeds of the ancient church and Three Forms of Unity of the Reformation.
Our worship is reverent, filled with Scripture and prayer, and the passionate singing of the Psalms.
In our morning service the preaching is expository through the Bible, book by book, and we conclude each service with the celebration of Holy Communion.
In the evening the preaching focuses on the basic doctrines and duties of the Christian life, utilizing the Reformed confessions.
Daniel Hyde
Rev. Daniel R. Hyde (B.A., M.Div., Th.M.) is the church planter and pastor of the Oceanside United Reformed Church in Carlsbad/Oceanside, CA. Rev. Hyde is the author of over 100 articles as well as 8 books: Jesus Loves the Little Children (Reformed Fellowship, 2006), The Good Confession (Wipf & Stock, 2007), What to Expect in Reformed Worship (Wipf & Stock, 2007), God With Us (Reformation Heritage , 2007), We Confess (Reformed Fellowship, 2008), In Living Color (Reformed Fellowship, 2009), Welcome to a Reformed Church (Reformation Trust, 2010), and In Defense of the Descent (Reformation Heritage, 2010). He and his wife, Karajean, have three sons, Cyprian, Caiden, and Daxton.
