Who We Are
We are a church located in Salt Springs, Florida.
FBC Salt Springs is a church made of followers of Jesus Christ who have covenanted with each other by the aid of the Holy Spirit to live out the Christian life in our community. We have a strong desire to know God as He has revealed Himself through His Word so that we will glorify His name with acceptable worship and biblical ministries.
Salt Springs is a great community if you like to live away from it all. We are situated in the Ocala National Forest where the great outdoors are enjoyed through hunting, fishing, hiking, kayaking, boating and swimming in our awesome natural springs. As a result of this location, many have chosen to retire here after years of coming to camp or reading about us on the internet. We also have many that visit here during the winter months to escape the northern cold. This has given us great opportunities to impact not just our community but also communities across the nation as they return home.
If you are looking for a place where the word of God is emphasized, worship is biblical, followers of Christ are connected, and opportunities to minister are plentiful, we would encourage you to prayerfully consider joining with us.
Eric Gervais
Pastor Eric P. Gervais began as Pastor of FBC Salt Springs on February 22, 2009. He is a true Cajun from the bayous of Louisiana where he was born and raised and born again at the age of 9, called to vocational ministry while in college at Nicholls State University, and served as Youth Minister in Morgan City and Thibodaux. Pastor Eric attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary while serving in Thibodaux where he earned the Master of Divinity Degree in Christian Education. During this time he married his partner in ministry Mary Beth Gervais. After leaving Thibodaux to serve as the Youth Minister in Peach Bottom, PA, they had their first child, Caroline. Their journey then took them to Mississippi where Pastor Eric served in Mendenhall for 5 years as the pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church. Their son Justis was born while in Mississippi.
Pastor Eric is an expositor of God's Word and believes strongly in the importance of the pulpit ministry. Much effort and dedication is given to ensuring that the people receive Godly counsel that is life changing. He believes that Jesus is enough for anybody and if presented accurately is sufficient for the salvation of the lost and the sanctification of the saved. If you want to truly know God's Word, you will not be disappointed to sit under his teaching and preaching.
