Memory Verses: Psalm 1:3-4
Day 1: Read Luke 5:17-6:12 What were "those days" like when Jesus was choosing his disciples? Who were the religious authorities at the time? What was their attitude towards Jesus? Read Luke 4:42, 5:16, 9:18, 28 and discuss: What was Jesus's pattern or work and rest? Why did he rest? What is your pattern of work and rest?
Day 2: Read Luke 6:14, 1 Tim. 4:12, Jeremiah 1:4-7 Based on these passages and Pastor Scott's explanation, why should you not let youth hinder your service to God? Are you serving God, now? If so, how did you come to the point of serving in these ways? How did you know you should? If not, why are you not serving? Read 1 Cor. 13:11 What sorts of things should mark the transition from child to adult? If you are a youth, are you steadily progressing towards adulthood? Why or why not?
Day 3: Read 1 Thess. 4:11, Jer. 45:5, Zech. 4:10 Why is it a good thing that most of us will be more like Judas Thaddaeus than Peter? What is the significance of Baruch and what he desired? Contrast how the world sees "great things" vs. how God sees "great things".
