Think carefully about your life and explain a situation where you had an encounter with an "enemy". Explain what happened; explain your thoughts and actions. Did your actions, or reactions, reflect Jesus' teaching in Luke 6:27? Why, or why not?
Day 2: Read Luke 6:27-36 and focus on 28a What does it mean to "bless those who curse you"? What is the application for your relationships in your family? What about in your school or workplace?
Day 3: Read Luke 6:27-36 and Ex. 23:4; Prov. 25:21 How do these OT passages inform our understanding of Jesus' teaching? Did Jesus really say something new? Or did He simply expand a "old" teaching? Explain your answer. Read 1 Pet. 2:21-24. In what ways was Jesus an "example"? In what practical and realistic ways can you follow His example in your own life?
