ORDER OF SALVATION (ORDO SALUTIS)
Regeneration – Faith & Repentance – Justification – Sanctification -- Glorification
I. The Benefits that Flow from Justification 5:1-5
v. 1 - Having been justified -- Perfect Passive participle.
This section is written to Christians, those who have been justified.
Justification is a one time DECLARATIVE act and is not repeated.
1. Peace with God -- 1
It is not a change in our feelings -- but a change in relationship with God. Eph. 2:1-8
2. Access by faith -- 2
3. Rejoicing in the midst of trouble-3
Tribulation = thlipsis: 'to abide under or stay under pressure'.
4. Perseverance (patience) -- 4
perseverance = hupomone cheerful (or hopeful) endurance, constancy:
You are stronger today because of the trials of yesterday.
5. Character (experience) -- 4
Character = dokime -- trustiness, experience (-riment), proof, trial.
As you persevere by God's grace, God builds this character in you.

hope = elpis -- to anticipate (usually with pleasure); expectation or confidence:
