In the city of Pisa, Italy there is a beautiful bell tower located right behind the city’s large cathedral. During the construction of this bell tower, sometime in the 12th century, the tower slowly began tilt. The tilt continued to increase gradually until efforts in the late 20th century that helped stabilize it from toppling over. Now, the appropriately named “Leaning Tower of Pisa” attracts tourists from all over to world to see the famous slanted structure. But, what is the secret behind this mysterious leaning tower?
There is really no secret at all; the tower was simply built on a weak foundation. Similarly, we as Christians need to have a firm foundation in our faith. If we build our lives on a weak foundation, what will we expect to happen? Thus, we need to give our children a firm foundation, as Dr. Kennedy eplains in his message, "Training Your Children."
