Sermon
Lesson 40
Hebrews 11:23-28
By Faith Moses Led God’s People Through A World of Unbelief
Main Idea: We must lead God’s people through a world of unbelief!
• His parents’ example: By faith Moses’ parents hid him (23)
Saw that he was an extraordinary child
Were not afraid of the king’s edict
• His commitment to leave: By faith he refused to be called royalty (24-26)
Chose NOT to be called son of Pharaoh’s daughter (24)
Chose to be mistreated with God’s people rather than enjoy temporary sin (25)
Considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than Egypt’s treasures (26)
• His purpose in leaving: By faith he left Egypt (27)
Did not fear the anger of the king
Endured by seeing Him who is invisible
• His “watershed” historical moment: By faith he initiated the Passover (28)
Sprinkled the blood
Prevented the destroyer from touching the Israelites
Applications
We must lead as parents—
recognizing our child’s gifts, protecting them, trusting God to use them.
We must leave false wealth to embrace true wealth—the reproach of Christ.
We must endure by “seeing the One who is invisible” in all of life.
We must protect God’s people!
