Is this the end of the age?
Disciples have asked that question since the church's birth.
And our Lord's answer to His first followers remains His answer to us today.
"It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But… you shall be witnesses to Me…" (Acts 1:7-8 NKJV)
It is the privilege of the church to continue "all that Jesus began both to do and teach" (Acts 1:1) by deliberately and actively serving as His witnesses to a perishing world.
It is Christ's Kingdom, not man's, that is to be each believer's abiding preoccupation. Like the early disciples, we struggle to keep the kingdom of man and the kingdom of God straight in our minds. Don't you think? Our perspective either helps or hinders the church's witness to our community.
This Sunday, we'll turn to Acts 1 and reconnect with our Lord's enduring commission to His followers. I hope to see you here as we consider, "When Kingdoms Collide."
