Death Could Not Hold Him
Introduction
• Celebrating The Resurrection of Jesus Christ – No Metaphor
• The Day of Pentecost & the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit Set the stage for Peter’s Message (2:1-6, 12-13)
• Begins Message quoting Joel 2:28-32 (2:14-21)
God’s Predetermined Plan being Worked Out in Christ’s Death and Resurrection (vs. 22-36; Genesis 3:15)
• Jesus Sent from God (v. 22)
• Jesus’ Death According to God’s Predetermined Plan (v. 23)
• Death Could Not Hold Him (vs. 24-32)
o “Raised up because of Our Justification” (Romans 4:25; 1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 10:12-18; Romans 7:6; 1 Corinthians 15:57)
o Fulfilled the Messianic Prophecy of Psalm 16:8-11 (vs. 25-28, 29-32; 1 Corinthians 15:6; Acts 1:15)

Conclusion/Application
• The Power of God that Raised Jesus From is the Dead is the Same Power that is at Work in All Those Who belong to Him for Their Salvation (Ephesians 1:19)
• Because of Christ’s Resurrection we by faith – Have been Made Partakers in Christ’s Righteousness – He Works in Us His Holy Spirit, Who washes us by Christ’s Blood and Regenerates us to a New Life in Christ – Have a Sure Pledge of our Blessed Resurrection.
• Because of His Resurrection the Holy Spirit Strengthens & Comforts Us as we Go Life’s Trials, and Endure the Troubles of Our Day
