Okay, we start this sermon by continuing with our limited study of the passage in Matthew 25:14-30. It's the Parable of the Talents. Pastor tells us what has lead up to this study. The connections are astonishing.
Jesus Christ - Always Good. He has an answer to Satan's accusations to the goodness of God.
Pastor rereads the passage. It's at a very high level. But it's a known, known. Nothing deeply hidden here, just a high level teaching. The commentary pastor gives is really good here.
Now the list from last week grows:
- He received one talent
(people want to say, that's not fair) - Lord I KNEW - Evil
- Reap Not Sown
- Gather not Scattered Seed
- I was afraid... So I hid
(What's that remind you of?) [Think Genesis 3:10] - Look. You Have Yours.
- But God Answers. (Christ answers this nonsense)
- You Wicked / Lazy
- You knew?
- Reap / Sown. Gather / Scatter
- Deposit
- Bankers
- Interest
Pastor's commentary here will make you go, Woo. This also has to do with Satan and the Anti-Christ and what happens to them at the end. And, it has to do with the people who think they are elite and say, "God chose me. He didn't choose you."
God essentially says to this slave, If you knew that I am wicked, and you're convinced I'm not coming back, why did you burry the talent? If that doesn't make sense, you'll need to listen so you'll get it.
Speaking of listening... Pastor, of course, is not done. He goes on with the lecture, so I'll stop typing here so you can just enjoy the rest of the sermon.
