A little while ago our pastor introduced a quote by C. S. Lewis, God shouts in our pain! From his book, The Problem With Pain. There are problems with pain. What are the questions? Why is there pain? And he goes further into this very concerning topic. What are the differences between pain and death? Pain is wrong... it is evil. Death is unmasked evil. Why is pain wrong? Why are there viruses?
And that takes us to where we are today... Theological – Immune Defense. We learn about the Febrile response and Pyrogens – Heat, and Hypothalamus. Did Adam have an immune system? Did he need one? ...No. But did God install these systems in him... in us? What are the implications if He did? This will all make sense soon. Be advised, 'Soon' is a relative term at Cliffside. Why do we have deadly small things? Ah... the ground is cursed... but it's for your sake. And that takes us back into this automatic virus... so listen from here and get educated.
But at 50 minutes into the lecture... we start the lecture. Wickedness in Genesis 6. And Moses's body, where is it? And The Resurrector. And Christ's Body. The Life is in The Blood. But he ends with, "We are a soul that has a body." He covers a great deal in these last 10 or so minutes, so pull out a notepad, open your TextBook... it's time for the advanced class to begin. Just press play.
