The Book of Acts
Series

In this series, Pastor John Westover preaches through the book of Acts "just giving the sense" of the narrative with an emphasis on dispensational theology. He is careful to point out that we should not get our church doctrine from The Book of Acts. We say this for several reasons: (1) The book of Acts is an historic narrative and is only a summary of the events and sermons contained therein. For example, we do not have all that Peter preached on the day of Pentecost. We have only a summary. (2) This book is transitional. The original apostles were just getting their doctrine straight. (See Acts 15). Things are fluid and changing in this book. It is transitioning from the Old Testament Jewish dispensation to the Church Age. (3) The place to find your doctrine is in the Pauline letters not in the book of Acts. I.e., The Book of Acts contains the proclamation of the gospel.
